2020-07-04 4th of July at Morgan's Canoe!

Carie & I did the holiday weekend at one of our favorite campgrounds, Morgan's Outdoor Adventures, or simply, Morgan's Canoe Campground. Morgan's is predominantly a boondocking campground but they do have 110 electric at a handful of their sites. Since we decided to go camping last minute and it was 4th of July and as popular as camping has become since COVID we could not get one of their 110 electric sites. We stayed at a back woods site near their supply barn. They don't advertise the site due to it being near their barn and only let friends stay back there as they don't want strangers messing with their barn and its contents.

We did not have air conditioning this weekend due to the site we were in and it was in the low 90's with moderate humidity but the nights were perfect for sleeping with the fans on and the windows open but in the daytime it was actually more comfortable in the outdoor shade of 90+ degrees than it was inside the Airstream!

We go to Morgan's a lot for a number of reason's like proximity to our home at only 9 - 10 miles away, the campground is beautiful and scenic, it's right on the Little Miami River, the sites are huge and well spaced, the place is family friendly and the owners are great people.

This is our first time going there on the 4th of July and I'd been told owner Dirk Morgan puts on a fantastic on-the-river fireworks show. It did not disappoint and in fact it was one of the best fireworks shows I've ever attended. Partially because we were on the river bank basically right under the firework so it was a spectacular display from that vantage point! We got a lot of pictures of the fireworks.

 The fireworks and their boat!

Dirk had these fireworks all fuzed together so he lit the end and got away and the fireworks did the rest. It burned through the display in a back & forth pattern to the end -

The tree on the right in the picture below partially blocked the view of some of the fireworks but no big deal.

Carie has more photos we may update here a little later...
