2018-05-05 Haydocy Rally

The annual Haydocy rally was fun, as always. This rally is put on by the local Airstream dealer, Haydocy Airstream & RV in conjunction with NOVA's own Suzie who worked hard with Haydocy and others to put on a great rally! This year the women-folk did crafting in the form of button flowers where they spiraled wire around a pencil and strung them with buttons of various sizes, colors and styles. then put them in salt & pepper shakers for "flower pots", very creative! The boys went and did go-cart racing but I opted out  this year so no pictures of that this year. There were some speaches by the Haydocy crew, socializing and a Cinco De Mayo party with great food & drinks. A few of us even went over to Haydocy's Buick / GMC dealership next door and test drove a few vehicles we were interested in. For Carie & I it was the convertible Buick Cascada which if Carie would have given the go-ahead we would be driving it today! And John & Suzie checked out the Denali Duramax trucks...which they BOUGHT!!!

2018-04-28 Urban Air! Logan, OH

We went to our first Urban Air event and it was very cool!!! The idea behind it is a bunch of Airstream's camp out in some downtown America Main Street and we try to help revitalize the area by bringing the money this event generates to and for the downtown area. The local businesses love it and us and we have a blast so it's a win-win. So this year it was on Main St. in downtown Logan Ohio and they completely shut down Main Street for us from Thursday - Sunday! All the Airstream's, some 75 (!) of them all parked along both sides of the street. Quite a site to behold and what fun with local band concerts, beer tent, food trucks and a local factory tour of the last remaining washboard company in America, etc. The evenings were filled with music by not only the local talent but also impromptu street "concerts" by our own Airstreamers playing there instruments. The days filled with socializing, eating out, shopping and sight seeing. Lot's of pictures here so enjoy...

The staging area for the rally was at the Hocking County Fairgrounds right down the road from the event location on Main St. Most attendees spent Wednesday night there and were told when and where to go on Thursday morning.

Urban Air!

The theme of the event was Appalachia and a "Pimp Your Blimp" contest was on with judging on Saturday. The judging was done with canned goods to be donated to the local food bank. The first place award went to NOVA's own John & Suzie with their Appalachia general store theme but there were plenty of clever decorations...

Beautifully polished vintage Airstream!

I thought this was a really attractive Airstream with the gray on aluminum strip and the gray on aluminum fabrics -

This vintage Airstream was awesome! This couple redid it 5 years ago and it was gorgeous inside and out!

Lot's of Segways! Apparently Airstreamers are also into Segways because including ours there were at least 4 Airstreams there with them!
