2019-Aug/Sept Two Campouts

I'm catching up with two campouts in one posting. We first did Morgan's Canoe, just Carie & I, for our anniversay over the holiday weekend. The second campout was the next weekend with friends Chris & Lauren at East Fork State Park.

 Morgan's Canoe

Carie & I did Morgan's Canoe, our favorite campground for our Anniversary. It was low-key and lots of fun and very relaxing, just how I like it!

"Happy anniversary, baby! Got you on my...miiiind"
Carie like to read so she got a new book and read aloud to me on and off all weekend. It was fun! The book was called Coconut Cowboy by Tim Dorsey.

This campout was a last minute thing taking place over the long Labor Day holiday weekend and the only place we could get into was Morgan's, not that that is a bad thing, in fact, it's great. Lori Morgan set us up in a site they usually don't use, out back in the woods near their barn, with electric run from the barn outlet. Very nice. The site was beautiful and lush.

Carie enjoying the river. She actually went swimming (in her skivvies!) after these photos were taken

 A few river shots...

We explored some of the side streams for fossils and arrowheads, which are plentiful around here. We found some fossils but no arrowheads, but we did find our mortal enemy - poison ivy!!! And no, we did get any on us so we're not all itchy.

On this trip we fired up the new Airstream branded grill with the adaption for the pressure on the Airstreams' LP port at the front of the Airstream! It worked like a champ! Love it!

Carie's anniversary gift - Matching hand-made Airstream necklace and earrings!

The next campout was at East Fork State Park. Actually, it still is at the time of this writing because I decided to stay for the following Monday (today), Tuesday & Wednesday and heading down to Indiana's Clifty Falls SP on Thursday for a NOVA campout there. Stay tuned for that blog write-up next week. Didn't get many pictures of this little get-together and even failed to get pics of Chris & Lauren's first time on Segway's.  :-(

Chris & Lauren with pooch, Bailey the chocolate lab. He's huge! Over 100 pounds, more of a chocolate Clydesdale!
