Every (Flying) Cloud Has A Silver Lining: 2018-11-24 Thanksgiving Rally At Winton Woods

We did our annual NOVA Thanksgiving rally at Winton Woods campground in Cincinnati. Great campground but popular during the high season and can be tough to get in to. This late in the season it's not usually a problem. Last year we were practically by ourselves at Thanksgiving but this year the campground was 80% full. Unusual for this time of year.

This rally is a lot of fun! We had three couples last year and six this year including one couple, Caleb & Halie (Tom & Ella's son and daughter-in-law) who rented a cabin. Additionally joining us was John & Suzie's son Tim and Tom & Ella's oldest son Micah.

Some of the gang went out on Friday and did some pistol shooting at a local gun range then went go-carting nearby. I did not participate in any of that this year so no pictures of those events.

For Thanksgiving Tom deep fried a turkey and had previously smoked another turkey and also had a third bird that was a boneless from Cooper Farms up near where Tom & Ella live (Thanks, Tom, for doing the bird cooking and carving! Much appreciated!). We had all the fixings and everybody each brings a couple of side dishes.

On Saturday we all watched the big Michigan vs. Ohio State game under my big event tent. John & Suzie are the Michigan fans in the group while everyone else roots for Ohio State! :-O

We had a fire going near continously. I had two bins of wood, I think Tom had three bins and Larry had two plus we bought five bundles from the camp store!
