Carie & I tried a new campground. Sandy Springs in Stout, OH right on the Ohio River. The place has been there a while but bought by new owners 3 years ago and upgraded by them quite nicely. Full hook-ups all around and beautiful Ohio riverfront sites! We had a site one row back but that worked well as we were right across from their boat ramp so had a great unobstructed view of the river. A good second choice site if you can't get a riverfront site. Also since we have a front dinette we were able to park the truck behind us and had a great view out the front dinette windows right to the river. This campground would be excallent for a smal group to camp together provided everyone could get a riverfront site. They had 7 riverfront sites that were spectacular and a few more that were somewhat obstructed view by trees on the river bank. The river is easily accessible and convenient at the boat ramp. Swimming, fishing and boating are all possible right there. Quite a few people swimming & fishing, too. A few of the other non-riverfront sites were nice, too. All the sites were spacious for a private campground.

My campsite
My view.

One of our camping neighbors had this cool set up with an InTech tiny toy hauler that he carried their bikes in while traveling and they slept in while camping
Carie had to work from the Airstream on Friday...
...I didn't! :-)
A barge going by!
A barge going by as seen from the boat ramp
We took a trip down to downtown Portsmouth and checked out the famous mural wall! We also checked out the Shawnee State Park Campground that is right nearby but no pictures of that. We did like the park, though.
A robin's nest! Unfortunately the nest was on a power pole four feet off the ground right between our site and three other sites so the birds were harassed a bit by all the campers, especially the children. Carie has a better picture I may post later. So yeah, I guess in that regard we did a little harassing, too. :-|
