2019-08-24 Lebanon KOA or The Escape Room Rally That Wasn't...

I put together a rally where we would all go do an escape room. These were popular nationwide a couple of years ago and none of us had ever done one. Well, by the time the rally rolled around we had 4 couples signed up for it, one couple canceled and of the other three nobody really wanted to do the escape room. HA! Which is just as well because when I called to cancel the escape room reservation they said "What reservation?" !!!  LOL HA!!! Oh well. But anyway what we all did want to do was camp. And we did. From Wednesday afternoon through Sunday morning. It was fun and the Lebanon KOA is an excellent campground! Since I was last there they have dumped a ton of money into upkeep and upgrades and the campground was beautiful, clean and well kept. Everyone agreed we would be back. Not only that but I am planning another shooting sports rally for next year and we will have it here and attend the 22Three range only 3 miles from here. A couple of us went and visited them to discuss this group rally and shooting event and they are going to give us a great deal/rate for group shooting and range time. Stayed tuned for that blog update next July!
We met a new Airstream couple this weekend, Howard and his wife Tomorrow. A very nice, fun and funny couple from the Cincinnati area. They have a "new" '66 Airstream International Land Yacht Tradewind (There's a mouthful). They just acquired it three weeks ago and it is in pretty good condition considering it's age and that for the past decade or so it has sat in a field. Howard is quite capable of doing most of the necessary work required as he has recent experience in refurbing his original Scotty Highlander. I didn't catch the age/year of the Scotty but it's the real deal. This was their first "official" campout with their new Airstream.

Just had to snap a picture of this. A tandem towing setup! I have seen people doing this before but it's still amazing to see, A class A motorhome towing a pickup truck towing a boat!

2019-08-03 Penn Wood

I organized a campout at the nearest all-Airstream campground, Penn Wood. It was a great time! There are 11 (I think) Airstream parks across the country. We had me solo as Carie couldn't make it and three other couples, Rick & Georgia, Mike & Sue and Randy & Carol. One other couple cancelled so couldn't make it.
I planned this nicely as the Pennsylvania Unit, Unit #91 (Our hosts at Penn Wood) of the WBAC had their 1st annual rally where the boys do all the work and the gals relax and enjoy. I forgot the name they gave this theme / rally but they invited us to join them for their events including a wine & cheese hour on Friday evening, a quiche brunch on Saturday morning and a lasagna dinner Saturday evening! And let me tell you the lasagna dinner was extremely well done including table clothes, table candles, dim lighting, flower center pieces and a half dozen of the guys even waited tables and cooked! It was top-notch! It was really like being in a nice restaurant and you forgot you were in a campground clubhouse. Ha!
Randy, Carol, Rick & Georgia hit it off great and they all went biking in the mornings. Rick's family is from this area so they had some insight and suggestions of what to do area and new the best bike trails. Meanwhile me, Mike and Sue drove over to Punxatawney, PA on Thursday and said hello to Punxanawney Phil of Groundhog Day fame! Ha! LOL!

PHIL !!!!!! Well, Phil's butt, he was sleeping.  :-|  A bad pic because we could only see him from the street window due to where he was sleeping so the window glare was brutal.

These concrete Punxy's were all over town. Wooden ones, too. In front of many of the businesses.
The awesome lasagna dinner on Saturday night!

Bunnies were everywhere! He's right in front of the bulletin board:
