Every (Flying) Cloud Has A Silver Lining: 2018-03-31 Deer Creek Sp and the Final Four NCAA Womens Basketball

Another Notre Dame game this weekend! We went up and camped at Deer Creek State Park near Columbus, Ohio where 2nd cousin Kathryn (player #33) and Notre Dame is playing in the NCAA Final Four on Friday night! What a game!!! It doesn't get any better than these two games! Both games ended in overtime and Kathryn and the Notre Dame team won by 2 points in OT!!! They play Sunday night at 6pm against Mississippi State for the National championship. This is Kathryn's senior year so praying they pull it off! What a great way to end her college basketball career!

Monday Update: THEY WON!!! Kathryn and the Notre Dame team won the National Championship with a last tenth of a second 3-point shot by Arike Ogunbowale !!!!

As for the camping, Carie & I had a great time. The campground was surprisingly busy. The place looked like a tornado went through, though, but the park manager told me they're cutting down ALL the ash trees in ALL the Ohio state parks due to the emerald ash borer beetle. He said they cut down 3,000 trees in Deer Creek alone!!! It sounds worse than it will be, I think, and these pictures look worse than it will be also. He said they plan to have it cleaned up by next weekend and I noticed they had stump-ground many of the stumps so I think when they're finish cleaning up, other than a few wide open sites I don't think it will look too bad. He also said some of those now wide open sunny sites will be getting shelter covers / lean-to type setups.
