Our resort...
Carie & Bev sea side
Here's a ton of flower pictures to start off with! The flowers were beautiful there and they were everywhere!
Here's the condo...
The front entrance, up the stairs
Kitchen
Living room
The lanai
The pool at the condo -
Carie & Ross pool side:
The birds were everywhere and pretty cool. These two are myna's and they are an imported species, not native to Hawaii -
Scenery and water features at the condo and surrounding area...
Zebra doves:
Ross "Hangin' Loose" on the lanai -
Bev walking back to the condo from the pool. What a pretty condo complex...
Red Crested Cardinals, a common bird on the island that was imported from Brazil. The species seemed very trusting and sociable and we had them eating out of our hands at one point!
Sunset on the beach the first evening in Kauai...
This picture the scenery off the condo's lanai
Carie "surfing"
Kristy goofin' at the condo...

Lava that had flowed right around these rocks!
Small world! Ran into Caitlin, my Skyline Chili work-week lunch waitress at the airport!!!
Several (13) pics of us sightseeing at the Hanalei wetlands -
One of several beaches we went to. Didn't catch the names, though, as there were no signs posted saying what beach you were at
Carie beachin' it...
Three pics from the lanai
Another beach -
Hang Loose!
Me, Bev and Ross thought this was a life guard telling Carie the best snorkeling spots. Turns out it was just some guy hitting on her! LOL!!!! :-O
This is a famous church. I don't know why it's famous other than old and very photogenic...
Native Hawaiian Nene geese. When I raised birds these were on my wish list but never did get any of them. They were endangered in the wild but on doing well now...
These shots are facing the other way from where the nene geese were!
Carie in the cave! Several caves there!
Tenting near the caves! Just to keep the blog camping related. :-O
View out the front door of the condo into the neighborhood
Chickies on the beach! A guy I work with told me to get pictures of girls so every time any of us saw a hottie in a bikini we'd say "There's one for Ernie!" HA!!!!!!
One for the girls...
Bev, Carie, Kristy & Duane on their regular morning walk:
Carie & Alan under a Banyon tree at the local golf course...no, we didn't golf...
More pictures of the beautiful golf course
At this point in the blog we'll take a flower break... ;-)
Around the condo area and neighborhoods -
This perch on the dolphin statue was this guys home as he was there every day! By the way, he's a Night Heron...
You can see him here, too, on top in line with the windows on the building in the background -
Duane & Ross on our morning walk. Duane humored Ross & I by doing a short walk with in the neighborhood. I say humored because Duane walks 6 or more miles in the mornings!
Cattle egret. Another introduced species to Hawaii and there are lots of them. This guy and a couple of his friends were following the landscaper on his mower as they chowed down on the bugs he rustled up.
More flowers!!!
Kristy on the lanai balcony
Carie & Kristy on the lanai
Front entrance of the condo...(again)...
Just missed getting the picture of this fella eating out of Carie's hand. You can see her hand and cracker on the right. This guy is a Red Crested Cardinal...we did get him eating out of Alan's hand, though...
Carie with her birthday cake! Yes we celebrated Carie's birthday and Bev's in Hawaii!
Duane, Carie & Bev -
These next 7 photos are from the St. Regis resort. Beautiful full-service resort! At $600 - $6,000 per night it should be! This resort was down the street from our condo.
The lobby of the St. Regis!
From the balconies of the St. Regis -
Here's the kitschy little roadside place that charged me $5 bucks for a small cup of iced tea. :-|
Their welcome sign. :-)
Zebra dove
Golden Shower Tree...yeah, no joke...that's really what it's called. :-|
Blue India Peacock. The blue's are the ones everybody always sees when they see a peacock in a park, etc. but there is also an impressive Java Green Peafowl but it is not friendly and pretty aggressive so you never see them in the public gardens and such.
A break from the laua photos...
Chickens..
YEAH! Chickens! They are EVERYWHERE on Kauai!!!! This is technically called a Jungle Fowl and this is what all chickens come from and look like in the wild.
Back to the laua...
Banana tree
Nice arrangement at the laua eating area...
Bev, Carie, Kristy -
Sister & brother - Carie & Duane

Ross & Bev
The entertainment at the eating area
Carie & Bev on stage doing a traditional Hawaiian dance! I have a video, too, but it's too big of a file to upload to this blog (Angry emoji here!)

Ross & Bev
Carie with our waiter, Caesar, whao Carie says looks like the musician The WeekND...whoever that is. :-|
Kristy with a massive plate of nachos!
View across the street from the restaurant -
More chickens!!! :-O
Spotted dove. Also called a Laced-Neck dove. Also quite common on the island.
Jungle fowl
The Kauai Museum but unfortunately we only had time to drive by it... :-|
Hawaiian Coot -
More flowers and plants...
Check out the bark on this tree. Is that cool or what?!?!
Hangin' on the lanai -
Carie, Bev, Duane and Kristy at the beach:
Yellow-Footed Boobies -
I'll leave you with a bunch of random pics most of which Carie took and I don't know what most of them are of...
Two ducks and a heron walk into a bar, bartender says "What'll it be?" Duck says "A beer, and put it on my bill." HA!!!! :-D
